Agreements

The agreements serve to ensure a smooth purchase, download, and installation; a productive reading; and to seek your understanding and support to enable our eBooks affordable to all Buyers.

1. Purchase

(a) If a Buyer wishes to have more information about an eBook, please view the relevant webpage of the eBook before purchasing. Once an eBook payment is confirmed and the download link is received, the download link cannot be terminated and the sale is final.

(b) A Buyer is responsible to select and check the correctness of the title, the edition number, the quantity (number of copies), the total payment, and other applicable details of an eBook to purchase before Checkout (or payment confirmation). An accidental online purchase due to an incorrect selection by a Buyer is regarded as the Buyer’s fault, a subsequently request for a refund or a replacement cannot be accepted.

(c) A Buyer is responsible to enter and check that the Buyer’s email address is correct and valid (for receiving the download link of a purchased eBook, contact and support) and the Buyer’s name is also correct and valid (for contact and support) before Checkout (or payment confirmation). Entering an incorrect and/or invalid email address and/or name by a Buyer in an online purchase is regarded as the Buyer’s fault, a subsequently request for a refund or a replacement cannot be accepted.

(d) For purchasing more than one eBook via PayPal, purchase ONE eBook in a Checkout AT A TIME to ensure an issue-free email delivery of the download link of each of your purchased eBooks. If the download link of your purchased eBook cannot be found in your Inbox, Junk/Spam folder 24 hours after completion of purchase and payment, use the Contact webpage to contact us by including (i) Buyer name and email address; (ii) Transaction ID and Transaction date and time (For example, 2-Feb-2020 17:22:31 GMT-05:00); and (iii) if applicable, download link address already received.

2. Download and Installation

(a) A Buyer is responsible to follow the installation instructions (Steps 1 to 4 for your first eBook. Step 3, then “Save” and “Open” for each additional eBook.) given in the download link email which will lead to a smooth and successful installation. The installed eBook cannot be transferred to another computer/device. Any deviation from the given installation instructions could cause problems that will likely be tedious and time-consuming to fix if fixable.

(b) An eBook published by the Publisher can only be opened and read on one computer/device (Windows or Machintosh) which can be desktop or laptop or tablet or phone. It will be convenient to download and install your purchased eBook only on your preferred computer/device for reading.

(c) A download eBook can only be first opened by the Adobe Digital Editions. An attempt to first open the eBook by any other software will disable (or damage) the eBook from being opened subsequently.

(d) The Adobe Digital Editions is the only software that can be used to open and read the Seller’s eBooks. Any other software will disable (or damage) a purchased eBook from being opened subsequently.

(e) An eBook published by the Publisher is protected, an attempt by a Buyer to change the configured usage of an eBook can result in a damaged eBook and/or a damaged computer which will be tedious and time-consuming to fix if fixable.

(f) Once an eBook is activated on a computer/device, it cannot be activated on another computer/device. Please visit the eBook webpage to purchase an additional copy for each computer/device.

(g) Any deviation as described in 2(a) to 2(f) caused by a Buyer is regarded as a fault of the Buyer and is outside the scope of our support. A subsequent request for the replacement or refund of a disabled (or damaged) eBook cannot be accepted.

3. Copyright

(a) Each eBook is copyright protected such that: “All rights reserved. This work in whole or part cannot be translated or copied or reproduced or distributed in any form or by any means, or stored in a data base or retrieval system, without the prior written permission of the copyright holder.”

(b) The Buyer of an eBook agrees to observe the copyright, discourage, disallow, and inform the Publisher (using the Contact link) any such activity involving the purchased eBook as described in 3(a). Any report received will be kept confidential and followed up by an appropriate action to stop the activity to sustain affordable eBooks for all Buyers.

(c) Any form of distribution of an eBook without a copyright permission is infringing and subject to liability for damages. A report (submitted via the Contact page) on any such activity of an eBook will be kept confidential and rewarded, if valid, with a discount to refund 50% or more of the purchased price of the eBook.

(d) An eBook is licensed to an individual reader and on one computer/device only and is not to be shared or given away or re-sold to another reader. The Buyer of an eBook agrees not to share or give away or re-sell the eBook to another reader.

4. Refund Policy

(a) A Buyer is responsible to view the information of an eBook and check the correctness of all the selected and entered items (see 1(b) and 1(c)) before the payment confirmation to avoid an accidental purchase.

(b) An eBook cannot be returned after a payment confirmation by a Buyer because the download link of the eBook received by the Buyer cannot be terminated, and a refund on an already disclosed download link cannot be made. Once an eBook has been activated/fulfilled on a computer, a cancellation and refund on an already opened eBook cannot be made.

(c) No refund is applied for any subsequent change in the price of an eBook. The Publisher will not refund a previously sold eBook due to a subsequent decrease in the price of the eBook, and the Publisher will not impose an additional charge to a previously sold eBook due to a subsequent increase in the price of the eBook.

(d) For a wrong or damaged eBook through no fault of a Buyer, a replacement will be provided. For submitting a request for replacement, please “Contact” the Publisher with details (and attach a copy of the Buyer’s download link email received) within seven days of the date of purchase.

(e) Adobe Editions’ graphics and font rendering issue as described in the Support page Item 17 is not regarded as an acceptable reason for the replacement or refund of a purchased eBook.

(f) Under all circumstances, a 20% processing fee (subject to a minimum processing fee $20.00) to help covering a part of the applicable cost will be charged for an approved replacement or refund.

(g) No request for a replacement or a refund of a purchased eBook will be considered after seven days from the date and time of the purchase.
